8 months - Baby agility

Kili cannot start agility training until she is about a year old (with such a long legged breed it might even be wise to wait until closer to 15 months for the jumping and weaving obstacles) which is why we have mostly been working on obedience and general manners. However, having seen how difficult certain obstacles can be (namely the teeter) for a retired racer (namely Summit) I thought it prudent to start her on her own baby teeter. She has since outgrown that baby teeter. It's hard for her to get all 4 feet on it, however it is still good practice. I decided to start her on her own little baby agility course. Right now all we have is the teeter and the "tunnel" but I'm hoping to convince the BF to start making a table for me, preferably one that has adjustable legs so I can increase the height as she grows. I may also invest in one of those cheap starter agility kits that have weave poles and jumps. I can leave the jump poles on the ground and just have her trot over them and the weaves can be left as a channel for now just to get her used to walking between them.

My BF also made us our very own Scent-O-Whirl after envying the one that Jen Bachelor has. Kili is not very skilled with this, particularly when it involves toys. I'm thinking the key will be to work on this with her lure toy before allowing her to play with it on the lunge whip. This video was taken after we had already been out playing for quite awhile so her enthusiasm is a little lacking, however all in all I was pleased.

Thanks, Jen. She's been training pretty well recently!
