Apex Agility Greyhounds offers a number of different obedience and agility classes and seminars, locally in Edmonton and around Alberta. If you are interested in finding out more about our classes or being updated on when we are offering new sets you can follow us on Facebook or e-mail us to sign up for our mailing list. All seminars are for sighthounds only and utilize positive reinforcement training methods.

If you are interested in a seminar outside of our driving radius, please e-mail us to discuss options.

Basic Obedience
6 week class focusing on teaching new owners the fundamentals of dog training, or just helping with sighthound quirks for dog owners new to the breed. We cover the basics such as sit, down, stay, and a strong emphasis on recall, among others.

Location: Summer classes - St. Albert, winter - indoors at Rexplex (just north of St. Albert).
Cost: $180

Here's a bit of what you can expect at your first class (you can even practice some of this and blow me away!)

Beginner Agility Seminars
This half day introduction to agility is a fun crash course designed to get you hooked on the sport! Hounds are introduced to each piece of equipment at their own pace using positive reinforcement. At the end of the day if you want to pursue agility further I'm happy to help you locate a hound approved trainer!

Location: Rexplex (just north of St. Albert) and Wet Noses (just east of Calgary)
Cost: $60

Online Courses
Online courses allow those with more advanced hounds, or those who do not live in the Edmonton area to train with us too! All courses are run on Facebook groups with video for each lesson posted every 2 weeks to allow ample opportunity for you to work on the material. You will be able to post your own video of you and your dog for feedback and suggestions.

Essential Skills for Sighthound Agility
This is a 4 lesson class that addresses the basics of several skills that I've found to be particularly important when running sighthounds. Topics covered include: impulse control, start lines, jump commitment, threadles, jump collection, and commitment to a line.

Cost: $110
