Shhhh! I'm earning his trust....

Summit and I haven't been up to much this summer. I had planned to do some agility with him but then my search for a second greyhound seemed like it might turn up a new adoption sooner than thought and I decided to save my money for obedience classes for her. Well, she turned out to not be the right one. So I've been taking a bit of a break from training and agility. But that doesn't mean we haven't been busy. I'm just 2 months into my new job as a vet and I've been back to playing competitive Ultimate Frisbee. While Summit is convinced that all discs are good for are providing food and water he does LOVE going to games and practices with me because he usually gets some great off leash time before and after. I love hearing the oooohs and ahhhhs of the other players as the greyhound goes ripping by. I'll have to get a video. We also just returned from a weekend long tournament in Ottawa at which I managed to pull my hamstring. Tournaments are a great showcase for greyhound adoption. People cannot believe how calm and well behaved he is. I bring a sun tent for him to hang out in and he enjoys sleeping the day away.

Now, I thought I would share a cute video of Summit and my one rabbit, Caspian. They are not the best of friends, though Caspian believes they are. Summit is actually a little afraid of Caspian. The rabbit has absolutely no fear and will jump over the dog, run past the bitey end, and jump up on Summit then sit there and groom himself. If you are not this rabbit friendly, you are not welcome in my house! ;)

I'm still wondering if we should go the puppy route. I am keeping my ears open. I'm just having a hard time making the time to look and my foster homes are not cooperating... even the good ones! :-)

I would love a puppy. I always wonder how people always seem to be able to get their hands on them. I guess it's easier down in the States.

Why aren't your foster homes cooperating?
