This is far more extreme than what Summit has. His is so minor that his eyes just look a little bit cloudy in certain light. |

Pannus
Alas, I have finally figured out what is going on with Summit's eyes. He has pannus. It is very mild. Prognosis is good. He can see. It should be easily managed with steroid eye drops every other day and Doggles if he has to be out in the sun for prolonged periods of time. However, he is my baby and diagnosing him with pannus today after finally being able to do a full ophthomology examination on him made my heart hurt (as my mother used to say every time my eye prescription got worse). He is fairly unperturbed by it. It's very mild and I don't think it interferes with his vision much, so hopefully we can keep it from getting worse now that we're going to start treating it and taking precautions.
He also has some weird blood work going on that I am trying to figure out and trying to decide if I need to do further diagnostics. I told him to wait until after I graduated vet school before he got expensive diseases, but he may have decided not to heed that suggestion. We shall see. I am still thinking on what needs to be done.

Oh dear! I hope the treatment keeps things ok for him!
I was talking about pannus today with a friend whose Greyhound has it mildly too. His has actually improved in the past 6 months with the drops. It's good that you caught it early:)
